Early Childhood Education in English for Speakers of Other Languages [Call for Chapters]

According to information posted at the The Doctoral Community @ LTE, the British Council are putting together an edited volume titled Early Childhood Education in English for Speakers of Other Languages, to be edited by Dr Victoria Murphy and Dr Maria Evangelou. The editors are currently seeking proposals for practice-oriented case studies, focusing on English-medium education among pre-schoolers (aged five or younger).

The case studies, which will span approximately 2,500-3,000 words, will focus on one (or more) of the following areas:

  1. psychological/biological factors.
  2. teachers/professional/parents.
  3. curriculum/resources.
  4. interventions in early years settings and/or within families.

Interested contributors are invited to send a proposal (500 words max.) outlining the proposed content, as well as a CV to Victoria Murphy (victoria.murphy[at]education.ox.ac[dot]uk). Notification of acceptance will be given by the end of February 2014.
