The 3rd Patras International Conference of Graduate Students in Linguistics (PICGL), to be held in Patras, Greece between 23rd and 25th May 2014, is intended as a venue for graduate students to present research in any field of linguistics. Keynote addresses will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Pavel Štekauer (Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice), Prof. Anna Anastassiadi-Symeonidi (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), Dr. Francesco Gardani (University of Vienna) and Dr. Nikos Koutsoukos (University of Patras).
Proposals from graduate students are invited for papers (20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute discussion) in Greek or English. A non-exhaustive list of topics includes:
- phonetics and phonology
- historical linguistics
- discourse analysis
- computational linguistics
- lexicology and lexicography
- language acquisition and language teaching
Anonymised abstracts (500 words maximum, including references) are to be sent as .doc, .docx, or .pdf attachments to picgl3[at]upatras[dot]gr by 10 February 2014. The email should be titled “Abstract submission”, and should contain the following information (a) author’s name and surname, (b) affiliation, (c) the title of the paper, (d) the area of research and (e) presentation mode (i.e., talk or poster).
