The 5th International Conference of the English Department, Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, entitled English Language and Literature Studies: Tradition and Transformation (ELLSTAT) will take place on the 23rd and 24th October 2015 in Belgrade. The aim of the conference is “to promote exchange of ideas across different areas and theoretical frameworks of English linguistics and anglophone literary/cultural studies throughout a broad academic community”.

Call for Papers
Proposals are invited for theme sessions and 20 minute presentations (followed by 10 minutes of discussion). Papers are to be presented in English, and may focus on any issue relating to the theme of the conference (Tradition and Transformation), in the fields of:
- Theoretical Linguistics;
- Applied Linguistics;
- Literary Studies; and
- Cultural Studies
Individual presentations
Scholars interested in presenting a paper should submit a fully anonymous 300-word abstract (excl. of references) as an MS-Word attachment to ellstat.belgrade[at]il.bg.ac[dot]rs. The email (not the abstract!) should also contain the following information: (a) title of the paper; (b) name of the author(s); (c) affiliation of the author(s); (d) key words; and (e) email address(es). Selected papers will be published in the Belgrade English Language and Literature Studies journal (BELLS).
Theme sessions
It is recommended that theme sessions contain four papers. Proposals for theme sessions should include: (a) the title and a brief rationale of the proposed theme session; (b) the name(s) of the session organiser(s)/convenor(s); and (c) the names of authors, titles and abstracts of the papers to be presented in the session. The deadline for theme session proposals is 1st June 2015.
Conference Fee
The fee for the conference, which includes a conference pack, is 80 Euros (60 Euros for the early bird conference fee, by 15 September 2015).
